After full payment of fees you should receive a receipt immediately via email and be redirected to the course page to click ‘enroll’. Use the login details you created at checkout to access the course content and EFL games packages, etc. (all included in your course fee). Please keep your login details secure. You can always enroll by following the information in ‘Student access’ if you missed enrollment. If any issues arise with access, simply message us and we will sort everything out for you in a timely manner.
Full technical and tutor support is included with our online course. Our content is clear and understandable. You also have a world of knowledge at your fingertips on internet search engines and online libraries. However, studyTEFL staff will happily answer your course-related inquiries and offer technical support free of charge. Under normal circumstances, we will respond to any technical inquiries within one (1) hour, but please allow up to twenty-four (24) hours. If you have issues on the weekend, please message as usual, but understand that a response may take slightly longer than usual – we do our absolute best, but weekends happen!
Each unit quiz requires 75% to proceed; content is organized in a specific, meaningful order based on development of ideas.
Students must achieve a final quiz score of seventy percent (75%) or above – slightly above the usual British standard for an A grade pass. Upon completing all unit quizzes, the final quiz should be taken (which carries a slightly higher weight than the other quizzes).
You may re-sit the midterm and final exams up to three times (3). Unit quizzes have no limits.
We do our utmost to ensure that you receive the best training and service possible. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the service provided by us, then please let us know by emailing or through the studyTEFL contact page.
Every endeavor is made to ensure that digital certificates reach the successful student by email within two (2) working days of completion of the course. The online version of this certificate is usually visible within two (2) working days (premium bundle), but this process may take longer in some cases. If you have not received your certificate by email within two (2) working days of submitting the final exam, please contact studyTEFL for assistance.
studyTEFL will refund payments for online courses on request, but the refund request must be made via email within fourteen (14) days of the payment submission, and you must not have gone beyond unit 1 in order to receive a full refund. The fourteen (14) day period counts as a ‘cooling-off period’ unless content has been accessed beyond the free units. We provide free lesson access pre-payment, our free lessons follow the exact same format and quality as our paid content, and UK and EU law protects our digital content within the 14-day cooling-off period. After completing 1 full unit, we deduct $3 for each unit completed from any refund amount. This covers administrative fees and charges from our payment platform (we cover these fees). Please understand that copyrighted material is protected for everyone’s best interests.
By sending any quiz after Unit 1 (or downloading any material on your logged-in student page), you are deemed to have begun your course and to have acknowledged that your right to a full refund without deductions for your online studyTEFL course is lost. Refunds given after students access any quizzes are subject to incremental reductions as outlined above in term 8 and below in term 10.
Refunds provided by studyTEFL will incur set deductions from the refund total at a fixed cost of three United States dollars (US$3) per unit accessed up to the full course total, and must fall into the time stipulation outlined in Term 8 (above).
Students may download PDF content relating to each lesson. This is included in the course fee. You have lifetime access to this content unless you receive a refund.
Students who download material or send unit quizzes (accessible only on the paid part of the course) waive their right to a full course refund regardless of how many days have passed since they paid for the course (this content is non-returnable and, therefore, voids any right to a full refund if received by the student). This digital content is covered under law (e.g. EU law) and protects studyTEFL from parting with digital content without fair compensation.
Free lessons are open to the public to allow students to try before they buy and, hence, are there to help minimize the event of prospective students purchasing without our course suiting their needs; however, as a retailer/customer, you have rights protected by the UK and EU. StudyTEFL respects your rights as set out legally above.
All refunds must be processed through the original card used for the purchase. Any credit card processing fees are the responsibility of the refunded student, and it may not be possible to change cards due to security reasons.
If, for any reason, you subsequently wish to cancel your online course after the fourteen (14) days has expired, studyTEFL cannot provide a refund. The course organizer’s decision is final. Please try our content in the free lessons to ensure you like the delivery methods. Please read our terms thoroughly to ensure you understand our obligations to you, your rights, and the rights of studyTEFL. We are professional teachers with the intention of providing you with a high-quality, great-value course; we are fair, but our work has value, so please understand that our rules are in place to protect all parties involved.
You have up to six (6) months to complete the regular course and twelve (12) months to complete the studyTEFL online course(s) (including Business TEFL) (updated from 12 months as of September 6th, 2025) from the date of purchase. Your access will be locked after this time, and you may need to pay an additional fee (of US$10) to continue with an extension. You can request the full PDF coursebook in this event.
If you wish to extend your online course deadline then you must contact the studyTEFL administration before your deadline. An additional payment of ten United States dollars (US$10) will be required to extend your course for two (2) additional months.
Courses are non-transferable. In other words, once you begin one studyTEFL course, you may not change it to another studyTEFL course, should we decide to provide other courses in the future.
All units include text and video content. The course is designed to be exactly as it is delivered to you (minus any technical faults), meaning that you are not entitled to supplementary audio, video, and text on every lesson unless it has been intended to be provided. The majority of units include full videos to support the text content, but text is the main method of instruction.
Students should try our free lessons to check if this method of delivery suits their needs before signing up.
Foil-label, embossed, hardcopy (card) certificates are available for an additional fee. We charge US$12 administration fee on top of the actual courier fee (e.g. UPS, Fed-Ex, or DHL – whichever is best value). However, studyTEFL reserves the right to refuse to create and send paper certificates where doing so is not reflected fairly in the US$12 administration fee charged, or where material, printing, labor cost exceeds that fee, or if mailing to a student’s location proves excessively difficult and time-consuming (e.g. if the main couriers such as DHL or UPS do not cover the area). With that said, we try to please all students, and we do our utmost to ensure that when paper certificates are requested, they are sent for the lowest cost possible (without impacting the package’s integrity). Instead, we recommend our $10 premium bundle upgrade – this includes self-printable certificates that are accepted the same as foil embossed ones due to the QR code imprint.
Current shipping fees from China (where our embosser is located – an international school English teacher) are around $45 to Europe, but the admin fee must also be paid on top of this.
Our desire to provide cheap TEFL course online training means that we also provide students with a certificate with no foil label image in order to ‘self print’ at home on 250-300gsm paper (thick hardcopy). This printable version comes with a scannable QR code that directs employers to your own webpage url for verification. This is the cheapest TEFL course certificate option because it is included in your premium course fee of just $10 more.
