Level 3 TEFL courses are OFQUAL-regulated (England regulator only) at 120 hours of TEFL training. Level 5 TEFL courses require around 160 to 170 hours of TEFL training and OFQUAL regulation. Many TEFL companies claim to be Level 3 or Level 5, whereas they are only ‘equivalent’, since without OFQUAL approval in England, they simply are not.
