TEFL & TESOL certification online
Finish your course and your StudyTEFL certificate, a digital TEFL-TESOL certificate, is included in the price. It has a QR code anyone can scan to check it.
Current purchased core courses include QR-linked certificate verification. That means employers and officials can check the certificate record online instead of relying only on an emailed PDF.
120-hour TEFL course with digital certificate: $39.

What is a TEFL certificate?
TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Many schools and online platforms ask for a certificate from a course of at least 120 hours, often alongside other requirements such as a degree or a passport from an English-speaking country.
The course length most job adverts ask for. StudyTEFL's 120-hour course is $39, certificate included.
Study at your own speed. Your certificate arrives as a digital file you can send to employers straight away.
Current core certificates carry a QR code that links to StudyTEFL's own verification record.
If a job asks specifically for CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or an Ofqual Level 5, take that qualification.
Current certificate verification
For purchased courses from May 21, 2026 onward, StudyTEFL uses QR-linked certificate verification on current core certificates.
Scan the QR code or use the verification system below. The record is designed to let an employer check the certificate against StudyTEFL's own system.
Type the student's family name exactly as shown on the certificate.
Use the full certificate number, including letters.
A current QR-linked certificate should return the matching StudyTEFL record. A newly issued certificate can take up to 12 hours to become verifiable, because activation is a manual step.
Check the spelling first, then contact us.
What does a TEFL certificate look like?
Certificate designs have changed over time, so employers should not expect every StudyTEFL certificate to look identical. There are still details that should be present.
Every StudyTEFL certificate should contain its own certificate number.
The certificate should identify the person who completed the course.
Current certificates show course and completion information relevant to the award.
Certificate branding, signatures and accreditation marks should match the period issued.
Certificate checker
Use the student's family name and complete certificate number. Current QR-linked certificates should return the matching StudyTEFL record immediately.
If a current QR record does not match, check the spelling first, then contact us.
Older and non-QR certificates
StudyTEFL has issued different certificate formats over time. A certificate without a QR code is not automatically invalid. Flip to see which check applies.
Certificates issued before December 13, 2025
For a certificate completed before December 13, 2025, you can still contact StudyTEFL directly for verification.
Some older records may also still exist at a certificate-specific StudyTEFL URL using the certificate number. If an older page does not exist or does not verify correctly, use manual verification instead.
Use the name shown on the certificate.
Send the complete certificate number.
Include your name and organisation if you are checking as an employer.
Manual confirmation can take up to 24-48 hours.
Certificate formats
StudyTEFL is an online provider, so the regular certificate process is digital. This keeps delivery fast and avoids making international students pay for compulsory postal certificates.
Eligible learners receive digital TEFL-TESOL certification after completing the course.
Current certificate bundles are designed so students can print a clean copy themselves.
Current core certificates link to StudyTEFL's online verification record.
Where required, the digital certificate can enter the UK apostille process.
Accreditation and provider checks
OTCAC and CPD-verified are private accreditors. UKRLP is a separate UK learning-provider registration.

StudyTEFL core TEFL courses are privately accredited by OTCAC. Reference: 20201216A.

StudyTEFL currently holds private provider accreditation through CPD-verified.

StudyTEFL is registered on the UK Register of Learning Providers. Registration is separate from accreditation.
Optional legalisation
Need the certificate legalised?
Most students do not need an apostille. If an employer or visa authority asks for legalisation, StudyTEFL has a dedicated route through Apostille.org.uk.
You can use the service even if you live outside the UK. Send the digital certificate as instructed, and the completed paper apostille can be returned internationally.
