StudyTEFL graduates use their certificates when applying for online English-teaching work. To date, we haven't had a graduate report that an online employer rejected a StudyTEFL certificate because of the certificate itself or because the provider is based in the UK.
That's useful real-world evidence from our own students. It isn't a promise that every company in every country will accept every applicant.
An employer can separately require a bachelor's degree, particular nationality or language ability, experience, a background check, work authorization or a named qualification.
If a vacancy specifically says CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or an Ofqual-regulated Level 5 qualification, take the qualification it asks for. StudyTEFL doesn't pretend to be one of those.
Your nationality doesn't decide where a document is apostilled. The issuing jurisdiction matters. StudyTEFL certificates are UK-issued, so Americans don't need to turn the TEFL certificate into a US document first.
For most Hague Convention destinations, our UK partner can take the digital StudyTEFL certificate through solicitor certification and the UK FCDO apostille process, then courier the finished paperwork to you.
Current core StudyTEFL courses include a QR-verifiable digital TEFL-TESOL certificate. You can send it electronically to online employers, self-print it, or arrange professional legalisation if a job or visa process requires it.
An apostille authenticates the relevant signature or certification for international document use. It doesn't guarantee a job, visa or employer acceptance, so always check your destination's requirements.
Try the lesson first, inspect the LMS, check the accreditation and see the certificate. If it fits the jobs you want, you don't need to pay hundreds more because you're American.
