Not to take StudyTEFL. Major routes such as EPIK require at least a bachelor's degree.
It can. EPIK requires some South African applicants to prove that schooling from Grade 7 through university was conducted in English.
Yes. Many suitable jobs use 100 or 120 hours as an important TEFL benchmark.

Possibly. Your South African documents and your UK-issued StudyTEFL certificate follow different legalisation routes.
Use these as starting points, then verify the current visa and employer requirements before accepting a contract.
EPIK currently accepts South African citizens. Applicants need at least a bachelor's degree, and South African applicants may need proof that their education from Grade 7 through university was conducted in English. Those without an education-related degree need at least 100 hours of TEFL/TESOL/CELTA.
South African citizens are explicitly eligible for EPIK, but degree, English-medium schooling and documentation rules apply.

Taiwan has formal work-permit requirements for foreign-language teaching. Check the current permit route and employer criteria.

Build experience remotely while deciding whether a move overseas actually suits you.
The strongest application is one where the qualification, legal documents and visa route all line up before the interview.
StudyTEFL uses real ESL lesson footage, classroom scenarios, human-voice video and audio, quizzes and checkpoint tasks.
You can inspect a real lesson before paying. That gives you a better basis for deciding whether the course is worth your money than a marketing promise alone.

DIRCO legalises eligible South African-origin public documents for use abroad through apostille or authentication, depending on the destination.
DIRCO also states that foreign public documents cannot be legalised by South Africa and must be legalised by the country that issued them. That matters because the StudyTEFL certificate is UK-issued.
So keep the paperwork separate: your South African degree or police clearance follows South Africa's legalisation process. If your StudyTEFL certificate needs legalisation, it follows the UK solicitor and FCDO route.
StudyTEFL is privately accredited online TEFL. It isn't CELTA and it isn't an Ofqual-regulated Level 5 qualification.
EPIK gives us a useful example: applicants who need TEFL certification currently require at least 100 hours of TEFL/TESOL/CELTA. StudyTEFL's 120-hour course sits above that hour threshold, although all of EPIK's other eligibility rules still apply.
If a vacancy names CELTA, Level 5 or another specific qualification, choose the qualification it asks for.
See the real StudyTEFL course before you enroll. The current 120-hour Complete TEFL is $39 USD.
